The U of I Spurlock Museum will open it's Spring Exhibit 'South Asian Seams' a celebration of quiltmaking in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh February 17th-August 1st. The display is free and open to the public during regular museum hours:

  • Wed, Thurs, Fri: 9-5
  • Saturday:10-4
  • Sunday: 12-4
  • Closed on Mondays & University holidays

Champaign-Urbana – Memorial Day Events , May 25, 2015


  • Memorial Day observances begin with a 9:00 a.m. ceremony at Woodlawn Cemetery put on by the Champaign Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5520. A guest speaker will be on hand and a 21 gun salute will be fired followed by live Taps.


  • The AMVETS Post 3 will have a ceremony at 10:30 a.m. at Grandview Memorial Gardens located on Rt. 150 west of Champaign. A recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance by the Judah Christian School Cub Scout Pack 908 and the Judah Christian School Heritage Girls will take place, Keith Wetherell the Deputy Executive Director, Illinois AMVETS Service Foundation will be the guest speaker, a 21 gun salute will be fired by Champaign Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5520 that will be followed by the playing of...
