16th Annual Twin City Twosome
16th Annual Twin City Twosome Saturday, May 10th, 9 a.m. at Crystal Lake Park.
You may register online at www.twincitiestwosome.com, mail your registration and check to Human Kinetics, or register and pick up your race packets at the following times: Friday, May 9, from noon to 6 p.m., at Human Kinetics, 1607 N. Market St., Champaign. Race day, from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. at the Crystal Lake House.
Preregistration (postmarked by May 3): Adults; $20 with T-shirt; $16 without T-shirt. 18 or younger; $12 with T-shirt; $8 without T-shirt.
After May 4: Adults; $22 with T-shirt; $18 without T-shirt. 18 or younger; $12 with T-shirt; $8 without T-shirt.
Champaign County Audubon Society 2008 Spring Bird Count
Saturday, May 10, Champaign County Audubon Society (CCAS) 2008 Spring Bird Count. This statewide spring bird count is done county by county, with CCAS responsible for Champaign and Piatt Counties.

Parkland College Art and Design Student Juried Exhibition
The Parkland College Art gallery will be hosting an exhibit featuring the work of parkland college student's in classes that include: ceramics, metals, sculpture, 2-dimensional design, 3-dimensional design, drawing 1, drawing 2, painting and watercolor, and photography. Rantoul Community Bicycle Recycling Program
The Rantoul Community Bicycle Recycling Program is a volunteer program, started in 2001 and managed by Mrs. Michelle Clayton, that reconditions and recycles used bicycles to children in need of a bike within the Rantoul area.
An estimated 60 bikes will be given to children on Saturday, May 10, at Rantoul Super Wal-Mart, from 9 a.am to 1 p.m.

Son's of the American Legion - 2nd Annual Poker Run
The 2nd Annual Poker Run will be May 10. Sign up will be from 10 to noon at Boomerang's bar & grill at 1309 E Washington St. in Urbana. The run will begin at noon and will be $15 a person or $20 per couple. All proceeds will go to the Children's Miracle Network.
Special Olympics - 2008 Spring Games
Special Olympics athletes from the Eastern Prairie Area 8 Program are competing in the 2008 Special Olympics Spring Games on Saturday, May 10th from 9:30am to 2:00pm at Central High School in Clifton. Area 8 is composed of Champaign, Ford, Iroquois, Kankakee, Piatt and Vermilion counties.

Krannert Art Museum presents Jay Ryan: Animals and Objects In and Out of Water
Jay Ryan: Animals and Objects In and Out of Water. Now through May 11th. Rock is a visual as well as aural medium; Jay Ryan's artwork is musical, similar to the album covers and gatefold sleeves of the 1960s and 1970s. Ryan's images are as unpredictable as rock 'n roll. Parkland Presents "Harvey"
Parkland Theatre students are proud to present the classic American comedy "Harvey." Harvey is the Pulitzer Prize winning story by Mary Chase. Performances are May 7, 8, 9, 10 at 8pm and May 11 at 3pm. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students, seniors, and youth. On opening night, all tickets are 2 for 1.

Tai Chi Classes at the Maple Center
The Maple Center, Inc will once again be offering Tai Chi classes. The classes will begin Tuesday, May 13th and will continue through the proceeding eight weeks. The classes will be taught at the Landsbaum center for Health Education, the cost will be $55 but the Maple Center policy is to offer a sliding-scale fee based on income for those who cannot afford the full amount. Free Medical Exams for Uninsured Women in Illinois
The Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (IBCCP) at the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District (CUPHD) will be holding enrollment days for women ages 35 to 64. Once enrolled in the IBCCP, qualified women will have acess to FREE mammograms, pap tests, breast and pelvic exams.

17th Annual Children's Building Fair
The 17th Annual Children's Building Fair is scheduled for Saturday May 17th, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will be held in the Orpheum parking lot in downtown Champaign. The Champaign Historic Preservation Commission will be conducting historic walking tours at the event. Walking tours are scheduled for 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. starting and finishing at the Orpheum. Annual Iris Show
The Prairie Iris Society presents their 21st annual iris show May 17th, 2008 at the Lincoln Square Mall in Urbana. All iris growers are invited to enter the show. Entries are accepted from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 17th. Judging begins at 11:00 a.m. The show is free and open to the public after judging is complete at approximately noon.
