Annual Iris Show
The Prairie Iris Society presents their 21st annual iris show May 17th, 2008 at the Lincoln Square Mall in Urbana. All iris growers are invited to enter the show. Entries are accepted from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 17th. Judging begins at 11:00 a.m. The show is free and open to the public after judging is complete at approximately noon.
Jefferson Middle School Presents...
Jefferson Middle School is proud to announce its Spring musical, "Wonderland! The Musical Misadventures of a Girl Named Alice." With hip-hopping music, it's an upbeat, coming-of-age story that audiences of all ages will enjoy. The musical will take place on Friday, May 16 at 7:30pm and Saturday, May 17 at 1:30pm and 7:30pm at Jefferson Middle School, 1115 S. Crescent, Champaign.
Free Youth Orchestra Concert
The East Central Illinois Youth Orchestra will present a free concert on Sunday, May 19th. The concert will begin at 7:30 PM and will be held at the Faith United Methodist Church Life Center in Champaign. For more information call 356-9812
A Call To Arts
A Call To Arts Wednesday, May 21, 7 p.m. "Wind Water and Light Gallery," 10 East Main Street, Champaign. Performance, visual, and literary artists are invited to participate in open critiques of their work on locations throughout Champaign County. Organized and moderated by Jenny Southlynn.

Washington Elementary School End of the Year Celebrations
The students and staff at Booker T. Washington Elementary School would like to invite family and friends to the following events:
Thursday, April 24th-Poetry Cafe beginning at 6 p.m. Come in and listen to poetry recited by students, teachers, and parents. Refeshments will be served.
Friday, May 23rd-Fifth grade students will present their musical, "Once Upon a Mattress" in the morning and afternoon. There will be two shows and two casts.
Wednesday, May 28th-Field Day and Celebration of Writing. The Celebration of Writing is all day.

Krannert Art Museum - Archaeological Heritage of Illinois
The Archaeological Heritage of Illinois going on now thru June 1, 2008. Prepared by professional archaeologists at the Illinois Transportation Archaeological Research Program, this temporary exhibition presents objects of material culture related to Native Peoples who lived in Illinois.

Rantoul Theater Group: 4th Annual CMN Fundraiser
The Rantoul Theater Group will be holding the 4th Annual Children's Miracle Network Fundraiser "Operation Broadway" on Saturday, June 7th. It will be held at the Rantoul Wal-Mart from 9am until 4pm.
Young ladies age 5 and up are encouraged to enter the audition for "Annie". The cost is $10.
A 2nd competition will be a "Family Feud" style event were teams of five people will be competing for prizes. The cost is $25.
All proceeds and entries benefit the Children's Miracle Network. For more information click the link above.

Citizens Needed to Serve on Public Arts Commission
Urbana Mayor Laurel Prussing is seeking Urbana residents who would like to serve on the new Public Arts Commission. The Commission was created by the City Council in April to develop a public arts program for Urbana which will engage citizens in lifelong involvement in the arts in all their many forms.
