Hello. If you've stumbled across this page by accident, happy surfing oh Internet wanderer! But if you've come here to read my bio, well then thanks for stopping by and allow me, please, to introduce myself. My name is Mary Jacobs and I'm from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. If you've never been to Calgary, I highly recommend a trip. It is situated in western Canada with the beautiful Rocky Mountains serving as its backdrop. You will love the cool, crisp, clean air of the pristine environment. And you'll find that Canadians are a very friendly, polite bunch! So stop by sometime and we'll show you a good time, eh?! :-)

I moved to Champaign 4 years ago. A question I often receive is, "So how do you like it here?" And to answer that, I love it! Champaign has far exceeded my expectations (I was simply told that it was a small mid-western town in the middle of cornfields!) Well, I've pleasantly discovered that it's so much more than that. I've made some great friends and colleagues here and I really feel that Champaign has a lot of culture and diversity; from academia to entertainment to sports, there's always something to do in this great little town of ours. I've also become a fast fan of the Fighting Illini!

I've been working for LiteRock 97.5 for nearly 3 years now and I'm finding that each day is better than the last. I am proud and privileged to work with such a dynamic group of people here. We're like one big, happy family. My show is on daily from 10 am. to noon and I absolutely love doing it! Connecting with my listeners is a truly rewarding feeling.

One of my passions is traveling. I just love going to foreign countries! Peru was my last conquest, preceded by Europe, India, Brazil and Israel. If 'people-watching' was an Olympic sport, I'm pretty sure I'd earn a gold. I love meeting new people, learning new languages, and understanding different cultures. And at the end of the day, it's such a neat feeling to realize that we all have more similarities than we do differences.

Another one of my addictions is salsa dancing! Latin rhythm just moves me and the music becomes so infectious that I just can't help myself, I have to get up and dance! On the weekends, you'll probably find me at one of the local Latin dance venues dancing up a storm to Salsa, Merengue and Bachata beats!
